Mandi: Employees’ body urges Centre to return Rs 9,000 cr

The New Pension Scheme Employees’ Federation handed over the demand letter to President of India Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu through the Mandi Deputy Commissioner on for the early payment of Rs 9,000 crore of the employees of the state.

State president Pradeep Thakur said the Himachal government has done a noble work by restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). After the restoration of OPS, NSDL under the Central Government has the balance of Rs 9,000 crore of the state employees and the state government, which is not being returned, he claimed.

He added that earlier also a letter had been written to the Centre on this issue but to no avail.

Thakur said the issue was also raised in a meeting with the Chief Minister.

The CM said the state government has written a letter to the Centre regarding this issue and no reply was received yet.

“Recently, it was decided in the state level meeting that all the District Executives will write a letter to the President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return this Rs 9,000 crore,” he added.

Thakur said if this money is not returned soon, they will plan for a big movement in the state.
