The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated as ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’ in Chamba on Tuesday.

To mark the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal administered the Sadbhavana Diwas pledge — an oath to work towards communal unity and goodwill among all Indians, without discrimination based on caste, creed, region, religion, or language — to officials and employees of various departments.

The pledge also emphasised resolving all differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.

In addition to the main event at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, similar oath-taking ceremonies were conducted by officials in other government offices across the district, reaffirming their commitment to the principles of harmony and unity advocated by Rajiv Gandhi.
