Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu flagged off 20 e-taxis under the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Start-up Yojana here today. Under the scheme, the state government provides 50 per cent subsidy to youth for the purchase of e-taxis and so far, Rs 4.22 crore has been disbursed to 59 eligible youth, and subsidy to 61 more beneficiaries would be released shortly.

“It will not only provide gainful employment to the youth, but also ensure assured income for a period of five years by attaching the vehicles with government offices, with a provision of two-year extension,” Sukhu said.
