The birthday of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was celebrated with fervour at various places in the district today. Leaders and workers of the BJP organised blood donation camps, offered prayers and held other activities to mark birthday of their veteran leader.

A special prayer programme was organised at Dwarka Dham, Jamli, near here where “gau pujan” (cow worship) was also performed. The young brigade of the BJP organised blood donation camps for two days during which over 100 units of blood was collected. Women workers gathered at home of Dhumal in Sameerpur village where a cake-cutting ceremony was held.

Besides family members, including wife Sheela Dhumal, sons Anurag Thakur, former Union Minister, and Arun Singh, chairman, IPL, leaders, including Congress MLA Ranjit Singh, BJP state president Rajiv Bindal, MLA Sudheer Sharma and former MLA Rajinder Rana, gave their best wishes to Prem Kumar Dhumal on his birthday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhumal said he was thankful to the people for giving him their love and affection.
