Ex-DGP Bhandari cremated with full state honours

Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Himachal Pradesh Police Ishwar Dev Bhandari was cremated with full state honours in his native village in Bilaspur district. Bhadari passed away at the age of 71 in Indira Gandhi medical College, Shimla. after he suffered a heart attack on Tuesday.

His body was then taken to his native village in Bilaspur. Bhandari, a 1982 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer had served as the DGP of HP police and had also held several key positions in CID, Homeguards and State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. He retired from the service from 2014 and was living in Shimla with his family.

A programme was also organised at the headquarters of Homegurards and the Civil Defence.
