Kashyap said that it was the responsibility of the SDMs to protect the rights and entitlements of the affected people. “No affected person should face any kind of difficulty under any circumstance,” he added. He instructed the officials to resolve the demands of the affected population.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the demands of the affected people of the Sunni, Rampur and Kumarsain regions of Shimla district. The compensation for crop damaged due to the project in Rampur was also reviewed at the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the compensation amount for financial year 2021-22 had already been disbursed to the affected people. “The assessment of crop loss for financial year 2022-23 has been completed. In Sunni, the assessment of crop loss for 2022-23 and 2023-24 has also been completed,” he added.
