Hamirpur, September 27

The three farm laws enacted by the Central Government are against farmers and must be withdrawn, said Kashmir Singh Thakur, national secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), here today.

He said that the Central Government had started a move to sell government properties while the economy of the country was on the decline. He added that CITU would continue its protests against the policies of the Central Government.

Thakur said, “CITU appreciates the initiative taken by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha to involve trade unions, organisations of agricultural workers, students, youths, women etc. whose lives, livelihoods and basic rights are at the risk of being compromised”.

He added that CITU had adopted resolutions on various issues, including opposing the labour codes and privatisation.
