The court passed this order last week on a petition filed by the ex-employee of the HPTDC that the corporation is not paying the retiral benefits to its employee due to its poor financial condition.

On November 12, 2024, Managing Director, HPTDC, had informed the court that as per dues of the departments of the government, which were outstanding towards the HPTDC on August 31, 2024 are concerned, an amount of Rs 1.68 crore has been recovered up to November 7, 2024. Similarly, amount due to the Tourism Development Corporation from the previous individuals or private entities as on August 31, 2024, i.e. sum of Rs 47,07,403 stands received as on November 7, 2024.

While referring the above information given by the Managing Director, the court ordered that “It is quite apparent from aforesaid statement made by Managing Director, HPTDC, that full amount, if any, due towards hotels, detailed hereinabove, has not been received till date.
