Chairman of the state branch of the ICAI Naresh Vashisht said some so-called professionals were filing returns on behalf of taxpayers, claiming illegal deductions to secure larger refunds. He said the taxpayers need to be cautious of those promising higher refunds, as the department is aware of every taxpayer’s transactions.
