The HP High Court has directed the Superintendent of Police, Police District Baddi to file fresh status report regarding the violations detected by the police related to illegal mining in the industrial belt Baddi.

The court directed the SP to inform the court whether any FIR has been registered regarding illegal mining in his jurisdiction and the stage thereto of the proceedings in the said cases.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma passed this order after perusing the affidavit filed by the Superintendent of Police, Police District Baddi revealing therein that challans for overloading in goods vehicles have been issued and similarly for vehicles not covering sand/gravel with dust suppression cloths.

The court passed this order on a Public Interest Litigation highlighting the issue of illegal mining in the industrial of Baddi-Barotiwala- Nalagarh.

While passing the above mentioned order the court listed the matter for further hearing on August 11.
