A devastating fire that broke out in a local hotel in Palampur last night was brought under control with the help of firefighters. Fire Department officials said that an electric short-circuit was the main cause of the incident. However, the hotel, which is among the prime properties of Palampur city, was saved. A senior hotel officer, while talking to mediapersons, said that no damage was caused to the building as well as the fixtures of the property and only electrical lines and power panels were destroyed because of the fire. He added that the hotel had installed all safety equipment and fire control systems, as per the guidelines of the state Fire Department.
