Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur Rohit Jamwal has directed the officials of construction company NPCC (National Projects Construction Corporation) Ltd and construction company M/s PSK Engineering to complete the construction work of Government Hydro Engineering College (GHEC), Bandla in Bilaspur district in stipulated time. He asked the officials of construction companies to complete main academic block of college building strictly within stipulated time frame that is March, 2021.

A review meeting of building works committee of the GHEC, Bandla was held today under the chairmanship of DC Bilaspur at construction site of college building at Bandla in Bilaspur.

Director, Technical Education, Sundernagar, Vivek Chandel, Divisional Forest Officer Bilaspur, Saroj Bhai Patel, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sadar, Bilaspur, Rameshwar, Director-cum-Principal, GHEC, Bandla, R.K. Awasthi and other members of committee were present in the meeting.

Director, Technical Education, Vivek Chandel apprised the DC about progress of work and other related issues. He briefed about the Rs-105 crore project funded by hydro sector PSUs NTPC Ltd. and NHPC Ltd.

“Four engineering streams, namely computer science, mechanical, civil and electrical, have been approved for the college with an objective to set up a state-of-the-art college in the field of hydro engineering. It would be first of its own kind college in the country. Currently with an intake of 480 students two engineering streams are running in the campus of RGGEC (Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College), at Nagrota Bagwan in Kangra district,” said Chandel.

The DC directed all the departments concerned to complete all allied works related to this project such as drinking water supply and Electricity Sub Station within stipulated time frame.
