For the first time in the past 17 years, the valley neither had rain nor snowfall during the arrival of winter season. A spokesperson for the Meteorological Department said as western disturbances were currently prevailing in the state more snowfall is likely in some parts of the state in the next two days, especially in higher reaches. The snowfall has also brought cheer to the hotel and tourism industry.
