Five arrested in cyber fraud cases from Rajasthan

A total of Rs 9.20 lakh in cash has been recovered from the possession of the accused.
A police team comprising Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Amit Katoch, Sub-Inspector Vishal Patial, and Sub-Inspector Anish Kumar carried out the arrests after conducting investigations in Rajasthan.
In the first case registered under Section 420 of the IPC and Sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act on June 2, 2023, an alleged accused fraudster Khushdeep Diwakar, a resident of Maderna Colony, Jodhpur, was arrested for duping people of Rs 40 lakh.
In the second case registered under Section 420 of the IPC and Section 66D of the IT Act on September 30, 2023, three alleged accused fraudsters identified as Shahrukh Khan, Ahmed Raaz and Rahul Chaudhary, all residents of Jodhpur, were arrested for their involvement in Rs 6.60 lakh fraud.
In the third case registered under Sections 419, 420 of the IPC and 66D of the IT Act on February 5, 2024, an alleged accused fraudster identified as Dinesh, a resident of Luni, Jodhpur, was arrested for cheating Kangra residents of Rs 22.25 lakh.
Praveen Dhiman, ASP, Cyber Crime, Dharamsala, said Rs 9.20 lakh had so far been recovered from the arrested persons. He said investigations were underway in all three cases and teams had been dispatched to other states to trace more suspects and recover the remaining amount from them.
