Five persons, including an eight-month-old girl, were killed in a tragic road accident near the Pandoh Dam in Mandi district today. The accident occurred on the Bakhli road when the car they were travelling in veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge.

All five occupants of the car died on the spot. The victims have been identified as Duni Chand (35), his wife Kanta Devi (30), their eight-month-old daughter Kinjal, all from Taraur village, Dayalu Ram of Naun village in Mandi district and Meena Kumari from Nepal.

According to preliminary information from the police, the family was returning from a marriage function when the fatal accident took place. Upon receiving information, a team from the Pandoh police post rushed to the accident spot and, with the help of locals, recovered the bodies from the gorge.

Mandi Additional SP Sagar Chander said that investigation was underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
