Five-year Grade A accreditation for Palampur agriculture varsity

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (CSKHPAU) has been accredited for five years. While addressing mediapersons here today, Vice-Chancellor Dr DK Vatsa said the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) said the university has been accredited till March 2028 and awarded Grade A.

He said that a high-level ICAR peer review team had visited the university six months back and had thoroughly inspected and studied the facilities for academic, research and extension education. The team had independently interacted and elicited the feedback from all stakeholders, including farmers, students and staff.

Dr Vatsa also thanked the university community for working in close cohesion and dedication for this prestigious achievement. He said almost all academic programmes had been accredited and the university has been asked to upload self-study reports of the constituent colleges on the university website. A mid-term review will be done and the authorities have been asked not to increase intake of students without the permission of the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board.

The VC added that the university would diligently follow all the conditions. At present, National Institution Ranking Framework of the Union Education Ministry has ranked CSKHPAU 12th among all agricultural and allied science institutions and 8th among all state agricultural universities of the country.
