The weather department has issued a forecast for light snow at many places and moderate snow at some places, in the high and mid hills of the state from Wednesday.

The precipitation, likely to start from Wednesday night, is likely to continue till the night of January 16.

A few spells of light rain/snow, with one or two moderate spells, are likely at tourist destinations of Naldehra, Manali and Shimla. A few spells of light snow, with one or two moderate spells in Kufri, Narkanda, Solang Valley and Sissu are likely.

Light rain and a few spells of moderate rain are likely over some parts of low hills/plain areas of the state.

A dense fog is likely to continue over isolated parts of the state from early morning till night on Wednesday.

The maximum temperature is likely to rise by two to four degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. Thereafter, maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 4-5 degrees Celsius over many parts of the state for the next two to three days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperature in the next 48 hours, but it will fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the subsequent two to three days.
