Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Shanta Kumar and his family members, who had been admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Mohali for the treatment for COVID-19, were discharged on Sunday morning.

A spokesman of the hospital said Shanta Kumar and his family members, who were admitted to the hospital 10 days ago, had tested negative and had recovered fully. He said the former chief minister and other menders of the family were discharged this morning.

Shanta Kumar’s wife Santosh Shailja had died due to complications related to coronavirus on December 29. A day after, the 86-year-old leader and his son Vikram Sharma were admitted to Fortis Hospital on December 30 as a precautionary measure.
