In a significant crackdown on drug abuse, the Kangra district police have arrested four individuals from Gurdaspur district, Punjab, after recovering 25.19 grams of 'chitta' (heroin) from their vehicle.

The suspects, identified as Gurinder Singh (30) of Rasulpur, Rupinder Kaur (21) of Neelkalan, Arithpal (22) of Rasulpur, and Rupinder Singh (26) of Dapai, were intercepted by police during routine patrols at Gaggal.

The police arrested the accused on the spot and registered a case against them under the NDPS Act.

SP Ashok Rattan of Nurpur and Kangra police districts emphasized that the anti-drug campaign will continue, assuring the public that no one involved in drug trafficking or illegal activities will be spared.

An investigation is currently underway.
