A man from Jubbal tehsil in Shimla district was duped of Rs 11.36 lakh by a fraudster posing as an Area Manager of Tata Steel.

As per a plaint lodged by Govind Singh, the incident occurred on April 25 when he was searching online for a Tata Steel distributor. Shortly after, he received a call from a person claiming to be the Area Manager.

Trusting the caller, Singh placed an order for 150 tonnes of steel and transferred Rs 11,35,650 through online payment. However, the steel was never delivered. A case has been registered.
