According to the District Disaster Management Authority, Lahaul and Spiti, 53 roads are located in the Lahaul subdivision, 40 in Udaipur subdivision and 31 in the Spiti subdivision. These road closures have severely impacted local transportation and daily activities as the region is already known for its challenging weather conditions.

In addition to the roadblocks, 33 electricity transformers have been disrupted across the district. Of these, 29 transformers are located in Udaipur subdivision, while four are in Spiti subdivision. The ongoing restoration efforts aim to not only clear the roads but also restore essential utilities such as electricity to the affected areas.

According to the police, Kaza to Losar road, which was recently cleared by the BRO for single-lane traffic to accommodate 4x4 vehicles, has once again been blocked due to heavy snowfall. The Tandi-Jispa road, however, remains open for single-lane traffic, providing some relief for residents and vehicles attempting to move through the region.

"The BRO and PWD are working tirelessly to clear all blocked roads and restore transportation in the district. Despite the difficult weather conditions, both agencies have committed significant manpower and resources to ensure early restoration of road access, allowing smoother transportation for residents and essential services," said an official OF DDMA Lahaul and Spiti.
