Girls have outshone boys in both Class X and XII results announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today.

The Class XII overall pass percentage in the state is 92%, while that of girls stood at 94.7% and boys at 89.7%. Meanwhile, the Class X overall pass percentage is 96.94% while that of girls stood at 98.16 % and boys at 96.06%.

Students of most of the prominent CBSE schools in Shimla have performed well in both the classes. In Loreto Convent, Tara Hall, Lakshita Kanwar topped the medical stream with 96.8% followed by Meghal Sharma with 95.2%. In non-medical, Aastha Bhaik secured 96.8% to bag the top spot followed by Shreshta Sharma with 94.6%. In commerce, Anshikha Vashisht stood first by scoring 89.8% and Tanishka Sohal bagged the second spot with 88.2%. In arts, Anushka Sharma topped with 96.4% followed by Anmol Chauhan with 96%. In Class X, Vasudha Sood topped with 97.8% followed by Anantya Kashyap at 96.6%.

In St Edwards School, Tanish Singh Chauhan topped the medical stream with 94.4% while Aryaman Kukreja stood second with 91.8%. In commerce, Anirudh Ahluwalia bagged the first spot with 96.6% followed by Ramit Goel at 94%. In Class X, Vedant Latawa and Samarth Singh emerged joint toppers at 97% followed by Divanyash Mahajan at the second spot with 96.4%.

In Dayanand Public School, Shimla, Saransh Sood topped the commerce stream with 96.4%, while Saloni Mehta secured the highest 94.4% in the science stream. In Class X, Riya Sharma topped by scoring 97.6% followed by Manthan Chauhan at 95.8%.

At DAV Senior Secondary School, Lakkar Bazaar, Pradhuman Sharma scored 98% in humanities, while Vipasha Gupta topped the science stream with 96.6%.

In Pinegrove School, Dharampur, Kunal Nandal and Lakshita Jain topped the Class XII commerce stream with 98% followed Parth Mittal at 97.2%. In science, Aarav Sen Mehta and Ranya Thakur are the joint toppers at 95.4% while Dhan Bahadur Karki stood second at 94.6%. In Class X, Avni Aggarwal topped with 97.2% followed by Pranjal Chahar at 96.4%.

Further in Sacred Heart Convent, Dhalli, Sanidhya Gupta topped with 96.6% in the Class XII medical stream followed by Adhiraj Kanwar at 95.6%. In non-medical, Arnav Sharma bagged the top spot with 88.40% followed by Uday Mahajan at 88.2%. In commerce, Raghav Sood scored 93.2% and Arpita Sood 93%. Meanwhile in arts, Adhiraj Kanwar topped with 95.6% followed by Kasutabh Thakur at 91.6%. In Class X, Ojas Vijayvargeeya secured the first position with 97.2% and Shivansh Sharma stood second with 94.6%.
