In a letter to the CM, Citizens Council, Mandi, president OP Kapoor highlighted the grave situation of the affected family. The tragedy killed three members of the family and left one critically injured.
Kapoor stated that the family, headed by Krishna Devi, a widow from a Scheduled Caste background, has been plunged into complete distress. Krishna, a former councillor, lost her two sons, who used to earn their livelihood by driving auto-rickshaws. Their vehicles too were destroyed in the disaster, cutting off the family’s primary source of income.
"The council has requested that two members of the family be offered government employment on compassionate grounds. One job is sought for the injured son once he recovers and another for a suitable nominee of the younger deceased son,” Kapoor added.
