Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and apprised him about the losses and destruction suffered by Himachal Pradesh due to cloudbursts, flashfloods and landslides. He also apprised the Prime Minister about the statewide anti-drug campaign being implemented right up to the panchayat level.

Shukla shared the details of the key development initiatives of the state, the impact of recent natural disasters and the progress of the Drug-Free Himachal campaign.

He also briefed the Prime Minister about the extensive damage caused by cloudbursts and landslides in Mandi district during the ongoing monsoon season. Several tragic incidents of cloudburst had resulted in the loss of lives and widespread destruction of property, rendering many families homeless. The Prime Minister assured the Governor that all possible assistance would be extended to the state for the relief and rehabilitation of the disaster-affected families.
