Governor hails PM for redevelopment of railway station
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dedicating the redeveloped Baijnath Paprola railway station to the nation under the Amrit Station Scheme.
The Governor virtually joined the national inauguration ceremony from Karsog in Mandi district, where the Prime Minister inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations across the country under the Amrit Station Scheme from Bikaner in Rajasthan.
Shukla conveyed his appreciation on behalf of the people of the state and said that the redevelopment of railway stations in Himachal would give a boost to tourism and generate job opportunities.
“India has witnessed unprecedented growth in railway infrastructure in recent years. The Central Government is working with utmost commitment towards the expansion and modernisation of railway infrastructure,” he added.
Shukla said that projects worth Rs 17,714 crore were being executed in Himachal. Besides, a record allocation of Rs 2,716 crore has been made for the state in the Union Budget for 2025–26.
