On the occasion, he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. “Sage Markandeya was regarded in the Hindu mythology as one of the most devout followers of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The temple holds immense religious significance and was one of the most important spiritual sites in the region,” he said.

In an informal interaction with mediapersons, he talked about his recent visit to the disaster-affected areas of Mandi. He expressed concern over the huge loss of life and property but appreciated the courage and resilience displayed by the people. “Despite the adversity, the spirit of the people remains strong. May Sage Markandeya continue to protect and bless the people of the state,” he said.
