Paying homage, the Governor remembered Virbhadra Singh as a towering statesman, visionary leader and devoted public servant. He said his immense contributions to the holistic development of Himachal Pradesh were deeply etched in the hearts of its people, and his life of service continues to inspire generations.
The Governor also highlighted Virbhadra Singh’s firm commitment to preserving the spiritual and cultural identity of Himachal Pradesh. “By enacting legislation against religious conversions, he worked with dedication to protect the sanctity and cultural fabric of this Dev Bhoomi,” the Governor said. His efforts reflected a deep sense of responsibility towards maintaining the purity and heritage of the state, he added.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was scheduled to pay tributes to Virbhadra at Rampur today but due to inclement weather conditions, he could not go. His wife and Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur reached Rampur by road to pay tributes to Virbhadra. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Pathania, Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Education Minister Rohit Thakur were also present.
