Accusing the government of misguiding the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) pensioners, the latter said that the orders for revised pension had not been notified yet. “The decision to pay revised pension to HRTC pensioners was approved in the HRTC’s BoD meeting. Yet, the order has not been notified till date,” said HRTC Pensioners’ Samasya Samadhan Manch president Ashok Purohit.

Purohit further alleged that the Rs 110-crore loan taken by the government for HRTC pensioners had not been utilized fully to clear the pending dues of the pensioners. “The dues like leave encashment, gratuity and computation since 2016 are still pending, and the total amount runs into crores of rupees,” said Purohit.

Purohit further said if the government did not show the required seriousness in addressing their demands, they will not refrain from sitting on fast unto death at Secretariat.
