While reviewing the status of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Deputy CM said that although Rs 6,300 crore was sanctioned by the Centre, only Rs 5,100 crore had been received so far. “An amount of Rs 1,200 crore is still pending with the Centre and the state government would strongly take up the matter of releasing the pending amount,” he said.

During the financial year 2024-25, out of Rs 920 crore sanctioned, the state has received only Rs 137 crore and Rs 783 crore is yet to be disbursed, he said.

He added that effective management of water resources and ensuring a reliable water supply remains a key priority of the state government
