Speaking on the occasion, the Governor expressed deep concern over the severe damage caused in Thunag and nearby areas, including the disruption of connectivity due to damaged roads. He commended the efforts of the district administration, armed forces, NDRF, and SDRF teams for their tireless work in rescue and relief operations.

The Governor appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and avoid creating obstructions at the rescue sites. “Local people have better knowledge of the terrain, and their cooperation is vital in ensuring that help reaches those in need quickly and efficiently,” he said. The Governor said he plans to visit the affected areas at an appropriate time to meet the victims and personally assess the situation. Expressing concern over the recurring natural disasters in the hill regions of the state, the Governor emphasised the need for environmental awareness among citizens.
