The Dohkeshwar Dham constructed within a short span of two years will help in promoting religious tourism and other economic activities. The Governor said it was a day for him to cherish as a devotee. He added that due to the construction of the Bhakra Dam, many ancient temples and a large portion of land was submerged in the waters of Gobind Sagar. Efforts were afoot to reconstruct and restore the old glory of the temples of the town.

He said the Dham was itself a unique masterpiece of architecture and it should be publicised to make it a global attraction.
