Thirty trainee officers of the Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service (HPFAS), currently undergoing training at the Dr Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MSHIPA), called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

Congratulating the trainees, the Governor said their selection reflected dedication, perseverance and commitment to public service. He said they would soon shoulder the crucial responsibility of ensuring prudent financial management in the state. He urged them to place public interest above all else and to work with integrity, discipline and a deep sense of duty.

“Himachal Pradesh is known as ‘Devbhoomi’, a land revered for its purity and unmatched natural beauty. Preserving its clean and serene environment is a shared responsibility,” he said. He said officers must remain committed to the larger welfare of the state and remember responsibilities should be valued above rights while serving the public.

During the interaction, Shukla highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in public administration. He urged the trainee officers to pursue their careers with professionalism, honesty and a spirit of service, contributing meaningfully to the state’s governance and development.

The course director, Shri Dinesh Sharma, briefed the Governor on the structure and objectives of the training programme. Rupali Thakur, director of MSHIPA, informed him that candidates would be required to clear a qualifying examination upon completion of the course. CP Verma, secretary to the Governor, was also present on the occasion.
