Hamirpur MLA Ashish Sharma appeared before police at Sujanpur police station in an alleged case of illegal mining and royalty fee evasion in the district today. The police had alleged that a crusher owned by Ashish Sharma had allegedly excavated and transported mining material that led to loss of over Rs 36 lakh to the state exchequer.

While speaking to the media at Sujanpur today, Ashish Sharma said that the government was misusing government machinery to damage his reputation. He said three cases were registered against him and his family members but there was nothing to prove him wrong. He said that despite repeated acts of unnecessary harassment, he would continue to cooperate in investigations and would come out clean.

Ashish said that he would continue to fight against the wrongdoings of Congress party. He added that he was facing all this for raising issues and becoming voice of people. He said that such acts would not stop him from working for the welfare of the people of his area.
