Everyone should exercise their right to vote in every election, whether for the Lok Sabha, Assembly or Panchayati Raj Institutions, as voting strengthens the spirit of democracy. This message was conveyed by Rahul Chauhan, Additional District Magistrate, during a district-level event at Shaheed Captain Mridul Sharma Memorial Boys Senior Secondary School in Hamirpur on National Voters’ Day.

Chauhan stressed the importance of every citizen, upon turning 18, ensuring their name is registered on the voter list and participating in elections. He explained the Election Commission updates voter lists four times a year for the convenience of eligible youth. The qualifying dates for registration are January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. Anyone who turns 18 on these dates can get their name added to the voter list.
