The administration of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hamirpur, honoured the winners of the divisional sports competition organised by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan here today.

Sunil Chauhan, principal of the school, said that the students excelled in various events and secured multiple medals. In the girls’ section, Shabana of Class XI clinched the gold medal in the under-19 category in chess, while Pranavi Sharma and Aashna of Class IX secured bronze medals in the under- 17 category. In basketball, the under-14 team comprising Palak, Khushboo, Tanvi, Kinjal, Ishita Thakur, Akanksha Thakur, Shrishti Rajput, Bhavna Thakur, Mayura Dogra, Anshika and Vaishnavi won the gold medal.

In Yogasana, Kirti Lakhanpal of Class VIII won the gold medal, while Sakshi earned the silver medal in the rhythmic Yogasana under-14 category. Disha Dogra of Class IX bagged the gold medal in the artistic yoga under-17 category and Shraddha of Class XI secured gold in the Yogasana under-19 category. In athletics, Riddhima Dhiman secured gold medals in the under-14 category in 400m and 600m races, and a bronze in long jump. Kashish of Class IX won a bronze medal in the under-19 400m race.

In the boys’ category for Yogasana, Aniket Sharma of Class VII won a gold medal, while Anshul Jaswal secured a bronze medal in the under-14 competition. The school principal also felicitated NCC cadets who represented the school during Himachal Day celebrations on April 15.

Chauhan stated that the students’ achievements were a matter of great pride. He added that the success of these students ould serve as an inspiration for other students.
