Him Academy Public School has bagged first position in the state in the day-cum-boarding school category in the Education World school rankings.

The school was awarded with the citation yesterday.

School CEO Pankaj Lakhanpal said the award was received by Kanchal Lakhanpal, coordinator of the school, who was accompanied by Shashi Bala, another senior faculty member.

As many as 8,500 schools from across the country were participants in the rankings, and the schools had to prove their credentials on over 100 parameters, he added.

Some of the parameters included education quality, infrastructure, academic excellence, all round development, discipline and health and hygiene, he added.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
