Naik Sushil Kumar (40), a resident of Paniyala village in Dei Da Non Gram Panchayat of the district, who died while on duty on Monday, was cremated with Army honours at his native place today. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed grief over the demise of Sushil Kumar.

The CM said the State Government stood firmly with the aggrieved family in this hour of grief and would provide all possible assistance to them. Agnihotri said the services of the brave son would always be remembered.

Sushil Kumar was posted in the 13th Dogra Regiment in Uttar Pradesh. He complained of dizziness while on duty on Monday. Sushil was rushed to a hospital, where he breathed his last.

The soldier’s body arrived at his native village today, where a large number of people gathered to pay him last tributes. Sushil Kumar is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
