A heartfelt farewell was accorded to Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhagat Singh Thakur at Police Ground here today. Officers of the district administration, police officials and local dignitaries were present on the occasion. Troops performed a ceremonial parade as the officer retired from active duty. Notably, Thakur retired after serving for 32 years in the department. Being a national gold medallist in boxing, he remained a disciplined officer of the force throughout.

Speaking on the occasion, he said he was moved by the love and affection showered on him. He urged his successors to continue the ‘War Against Drugs’.
