ON the road to Sabji Mandi from Cart Road, pedestrians have been facing a lot of inconvenience as vehicles parked on either side take up the entire road, leaving little room for them to pass through. Those parking vehicles on the road should be instructed to not do so by the authorities concerned so that the pedestrians could pass through without any inconvenience.

Traffic jam on one-way road

AT times, police personnel are not deployed on either end of a road stretch near the Kasumpti market, which is a very narrow, one-way passage for vehicles. Due to this, vehicles enter the market from both ends of the stretch, leading to frequent traffic snarls. The authorities concerned should ensure that police personnel are always deputed on the two ends of the market. Krishan Lal, Vikasnagar

A public toilet in Totu is in very poor condition. It is extremely unhygienic and water frequently leaks for the pipes. It is practically impossible for people to use this toilet. The authorities should take immediate steps to ensure that toilets across the town are clean, for dirty public toilets can be a breeding ground for a number of diseases. Sudhir, Shimla
