“The response is good and the checking of papers has also started simultaneously,” said Director, Higher Education, Amarjeet Sharma adding that the result in the first term was 97 per cent.

The syllabus has been curtailed by 30 per cent and more choices were provided in question papers. The first term online assessment was done in the first week of September and remedial backup was given to the students who did not perform well and there has been a marked improvement in the learning status.

Following lockdown and closure of schools since March 16, the Education Department switched over to online teaching and programmes like ‘Har Ghar Pathshala’ were successfully implemented. — TNS
