Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan has invited the world’s leading players in the medical sector to invest in the state during a visit to Medica 2024, one of the world’s largest medical trade fairs, in Germany. The Indian delegation, led by the minister, held detailed deliberations with the sector experts and other industry players during the fair, and assured them of a conducive environment for innovation and manufacturing.

The delegation visited the Indian Pavilion during the fair being held at Dusseldoff in Germany. It also explored the pavilions of Japan, Israel and South Korea with an aim to establish strategic tie-ups. The delegation engaged with prominent companies such as Skanray Technologies Limited, Sahajanand Laser Technology Limited (SLTL), ENVOMED, ATLASense BIOMED, QinFLOW, EFA Med Tech, Accuscience, and Rephael. Bala K, Executive Director, Skanray Technologies, while sharing information for advanced medical technology solutions, expressed interest in establishing a manufacturing plant in the upcoming medical devices park in Nalagarh. Additionally, representatives from Rephael and ATLASense BIOMED also showed interest to invest in the state.

The minister also expressed consent to establishing a dedicated, sector-specific medical devices zone in the state to support this growing industry. This initiative would offer targeted infrastructure and incentives, reinforcing Himachal’s position as a prime investment destination for cutting-edge healthcare solutions.

Chauhan invited the sector experts to partner with the government in it’s initiative to form the State Healthcare Advisory in manufacturing and innovation. After detail discussions and deliberations with various stakeholders, eight to 10 CEOs agreed to visit Himachal in future for understanding the prevailing ecosystem of the healthcare sector and the medical devices sector.
