Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq has reconstituted a five-member committee to be headed by him to streamline the process of designating advocates as ‘senior’.

A panel to be known as the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates will deal with the matter. Besides the Chief Justice, this panel has two senior-most judges Justice Sabina, and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Advocate General and senior advocate GD Verma as members.

The Chief Justice has also formed 21 other committees comprising: Administrative Committee—Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Justice Sabina and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan; Finance Committee—Justice Sabina, Justice CB Barowalia and Justice Satyen Vaidya; Computer and e-court Committee—Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Justice Sandeep Sharma and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua; Case Management and Arrears Committee—Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Sandeep Sharma; Judiciary Grievance Committee—Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Justice CB Barowalia and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua; Rules Committee—Justice Sandeep Sharma, Justice CB Barowalia and Jyotsna Rewal Dua; Committee for Drawing Annual Report—Justice CB Barowalia and Justice Satyen Vaidya; and the Committee for Allotment of Residential Accommodation—Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua. — OC
