While presiding over a review meeting of the 108 Ambulance Services here yesterday, state Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil said the ambulances that were purchased 10 years ago or had run for 3.5 lakh km should be immediately replaced.

He directed the firm providing the 108 Ambulance Services to ensure the maintenance of the existing fleet and replacement of the old ambulances with new ones. The minister highlighted the importance of immediately responding to the emergency calls and ensuring that the service was made accessible across the state. He said it was necessary to ensure that the first-aid kits and life-saving equipment were in good service condition.
