Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday demanded a probe into the allegations levelled by a girl over non-availability of an injection under Himcare card.

The girl alleged that her father died due to the non-availability of an injection at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla.

The injection was expensive and we couldn’t buy it from the market, she added.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident. It raises several questions that this government needs to answer about health set up in the state,” said Thakur.

He further said that the entire health system had collapsed under the current government, with several essential drugs unavailable in hospitals.

He urged Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to provide the budget to fix the ailing health system.
