Nahan, March 3

Light snowfall was recorded in Chandpurdhar, Shillai, Haripurdhar, Nohradhar and other high-altitude areas of Sirmaur district, while there was heavy rain in the low-altitude areas. Due to continuous snowfall in Churdhar, the highest peak of Sirmaur, for the last three days, more than two-and-a-half feet of fresh snow has been recorded.

Polio campaign has also started in the area today and despite the bad weather, anganwadi workers and health workers reached every booth in rural areas and administered polio drops to the children.

A team of anganwadi workers from Haripurdhar reached the Deuri Khadah booth, the last village of Sirmaur district, despite bad weather. This team administered polio drops to children from about half-a-dozen villages in the area. On Monday, these workers will go door-to-door in every village to administer polio drops to children.

The deepening electricity crisis in the trans-Giri area for more than two weeks, is also causing a lot of trouble to the people. There was darkness for more than 10 hours in around 300 villages of the area from Saturday evening.

Even today, people had to face a lot of problems due to power outages throughout the day.
