In its earlier order, a Division Bench of the High Court had issued notices to the state government and Kiran Negi, the deceased’s wife, regarding the removal of some observations made in the single judge’s order transferring the probe to the CBI. The court will now hear the SP’s plea on this limited aspect.

During the course of hearing, the respondents requested for three more weeks to file a reply to the application, which was allowed and the Division Bench of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Ranjan Sharma fixed the next hearing on August 25.
