Shimla, September 1

The State Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for September 3 and at least nine districts will be receiving heavy rainfall.

As per the MeT Department, the warning has been issued for Shimla, Solan, Kullu, Sirmaur, Una, Bilaspur, Mandi, Kangra and Hamirpur districts, resulting in heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places.

Rainfall across the state is likely to continue till September 5. Similarly, rainfall will continue in plains, low and middle hills of the state on September 6 and 7 while weather will remain dry in the higher hills of the state.

Light to moderate rain occurred at isolated places over the state during the last 24 hours. Average minimum temperatures were normal while maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal.

Shimla recorded 26.3°C maximum temperature while Dharamshala recorded 29°C. The maximum temperature in Manali was 27.4°C, Solan 32°C, Bhuntar 35.2°C, Kangra 33.2°C, Mandi 31.9°C, Nahan 31.5°C, Dalhousie 23°C, Bilaspur 34.5°C, Kasauli 24.6°C and Kalpa 26.6°C.

With 36°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest as it recorded 11.9°C minimum temperature.
