Higher reaches of state receive fresh snowfall

Light snowfall also occurred in isolated areas of tribal district Lahaul and Spiti. Light rainfall was recorded in the higher regions of Kinnaur, including Sangla and Kalpa, along with Manali and Naina Devi in Bilaspur district.
As per the state’s Meteorological Department, the higher reaches of the state experienced light snowfall while light rainfall was also experienced in several parts of the state. However, minimum temperatures, during the past 24 hours, were 2°C to 4°C above normal and were between the range of minus 2°C to 18°C. Similarly, maximum temperatures across the state were 2°C to 3°C above normal and were in the range of 13°C to 31°C.
The department also revealed that weather is very likely to remain dry across the state till November 11. During this period, minimum temperature in the state is very likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C while maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C during the next few days.
Meanwhile, minimum temperature in Shimla, the state’s capital, today was 8.4°C, Dharamsala recorded 13.8°C, Manali 6.9°C, Kalpa 2.8°C, Solan 11°C, Kangra 13.6°C, Mandi 13.3°C, Sundernagar 12.7°C, Bhuntar 11°C, Nahan 12.6°C, Kufri 6.3°C, Narkanda 5.4°C, Reckongpeo 7°C, Paonta Sahib 18°C, Keylong minus 0.4°C and Kukumseri minus 1.8°C.
With 31.2°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest as it recorded minus 2.2°C minimum temperature.
