Jaswan-Pragpur MLA Bikram Singh today alleged that the state government had taken anti-people decisions like hiking power and water tariffs. He added that the government had withdrawn power being given to the industry on subsidised tariffs, resulting in resentment among industrialists.

Bikram, while addressing a press conference here, said that the milk cess and the environment cess imposed on all categories of industries were also burdening the industry. He claimed that the new condition of Rs 50,000 annual income laid down for the selection of new BPL families was impractical and should be reconsidered. He added that the decision regarding the e-tendering of works being given to officials and then back to pradhans also reflected their indecisiveness.

The MLA said that the state government had sought all unspent money in various departments back while payments to contractors were still pending. He alleged that there was totally anarchy in Himachal and the state of affairs here was no different from Pakistan.

Bikram, former Industries Minister, said that the Congress government had failed on every front and it would not be wrong to compare it with the Pakistan government. “The situation in Himachal is no different than in Pakistan, where there is total anarchy. All decisions of the Himachal Government are anti-people,” he alleged.
