Addressing a large gathering, Janartha highlighted the collaborative efforts of the government, administration and public in driving positive change. “The NITI Aayog has recorded improvements in three key indicators for both blocks, which is a matter of pride,” he said, adding that both regions are well on track to exit the list of aspirational blocks.

He stressed the importance of self-reliance through local enterprise. “There is rising demand for Himachali products in the market. This is creating self-employment opportunities, especially for rural women and reviving traditional goods once on the verge of extinction,” he said.

Janartha praised the Him Ira initiative, under which self-help groups (SHGs) across Himachal have been united to market indigenous products. “Today, local products from our hills are reaching global markets. Strengthening the rural economy is our key focus,” he added, urging citizens to support SHGs by selling and buying local.
